
Rural Youth Entrepreneurship Development Center (RYEDC), Taprang initiated Jurebhumi Youth Agriculture Cooperatives (JYAC) to start group enterprise and small scale individual enterprise development in Taprang village. Alternatives started RYEDC in Taprang in 2009 to develop this rural area as the model village for enterprise development.
In the consultation meeting of RYEDC held on Friday, March 12, 2010 in RYEDC premises, Taprang has made consensus to form the JYAC for generating rural income and to involve local youth in poverty alleviation and income generation. The meeting has formed new working committee of JYAC and selected Mr. Gangadhar Baral, Coordinator of RYEDC as President. The meeting also decided to register JYAC with Rs. 30,000 as paid capital.
Through Youth Enterprise Micro-Finance Program of Alternatives, Rural Youth Entrepreneurship Development Center has already started an Organic Based Seasonal and Unseasonal Vegetable Production Centre in Taprang. Seasonal and Unseasonal Vegetable Production Centre involved local youth on group vegetable farming on 3000 sq. m of land for generating rural income and promote organic based farming in their village.
Through, Jurebhumi Youth Agriculture Cooperative, Alternative has been conducting micro financing to all members to start organic farming in Taprang. The meeting was moderated by Mr. Jiban Baral, Founding President and Executive Director of Alathernatives and Mr. Samundra Paudel, secretary of Alternatives. This RYEDC model of our Sarbodaya Fund is going to be replicated in other six villages in Kaski District in near future.
