Alternatives organized an orientation on drug abuse, HIV and entrepreneurship to students of grade 8, 9 and 10 of Tara Kunja Boarding school in Patanbesi of Pokhara. The main objective of the program was to give students the basic concepts of drug abuse and HIV.
The Students of School of Business Pokhara Univesity are planning to go
for 5 days trekking for promotion to 83% campaign of Alternatives on
27th February, 2010. With coordination and support of Alternatives,
Managing Hands, the students association of School of Business Pokhara
University, is planning to take its students for trekking as
promotional campaign for the yawning social cause. According to Mr. Santosh Koirala, student leader of Managing Hands, "the trekking starts
from Bhujrungkhola, to Ghale kharka, Sikless, Tangting, Parche, Taprang
and return back to Pokhara for promoting 83% Campaign across the rural areas."
The free one day Eye Camp (Free Cataract Surgery) was organized at Sildujure VDC – 4, Taprang, Kaski on 2010 – 02 – 13 Saturday by Lions Club of Lakecity, Pokhara with special support from Alternatives and Himalayan Eye Hospital, Gharipatan.
As a part of 83% campaign, Alternatives organized the public discussion series with the youth and villagers of KALIKA VDC on 30th January, 2010 with the coordination of Nawa Deurali Yuwa Club.
The program was organized at the Village Development Office at Jahngalmare with the presidency of Mr. Subhas Adhikari. The to our long two hour long discussion series resulted many views from different political leaders like Mr. Maan Bahadur GC from UML, Krishna KC from Nepali Congress and the Principal Mr. Madhav Prasad Paudel of Janjyoti Secondary School. The program was facilitated by Mr. Jiban Baral from Alternatives.
